Professional Experience
John Ritger is a Principal at Woodworth Core Group, where he leads the national appraisal practice. Based in Atlanta, he was formerly a Principal at Core Hospitality Advisors, co-leading their national appraisal practice from 2016 until the merger created WCG in 2024.
John has nearly 20 years of hospitality industry experience with a focus on valuation, advisory, market analysis and feasibility studies. He has appraised thousands of lodging properties in a diverse variety of markets across the United States. His experience spans a wide range of lodging property types, ranging from small inns to franchised hotels to complex large resorts; and includes single properties, large portfolios, and fractional ownership interests.
John began his career with KPMG’s Risk Advisory Services practice and entered the hospitality industry in 2007, serving as a Senior Valuation Analyst with Hunter Hotel Advisors to support a nationwide brokerage team. He joined Cowart Hospitality Services in 2012, becoming a licensed appraiser; then co-founded Core Hospitality Advisors in 2016, focusing on providing appraisal and valuation services for all types of lodging properties nationwide.

John attained the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2020 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia, with a dual major in Finance and Risk Management and Insurance.
